Leonard Leung, Founder and Principal of Hudson Street Studio, leads the firm’s work by providing insightful design leadership on a wide range of project types and varying scales.  His strong commitment to providing a conceptual framework and design rigor to each project transcends typology and style.  His portfolio of work ranges from the small-scale design of a multimedia conference room at Riverdale Country School to re-imagining a 150,000 SF community center for the 14 Street Y in Lower Manhattan.  A former Partner at PBDW Architects, Leonard has over 27 years of design, management, and leadership experience.  His work includes the addition to and renovation of the Educational Alliance’s flagship building; the design of a new Equinox Fitness Club on East 92nd Street in Manhattan; a new aquatic center, student center, and gymnasium building at Riverdale Country School; and the design of a new production studio and corporate office space for a Not-for Profit Media Company in Brooklyn.

Leonard has over 10 years of teaching experience at Pratt Institute School of Architecture.  As an Adjunct Associate Professor, he is currently teaching an advanced architectural design studio.  He has previously taught design studio at New York Institute of Technology and participates in multiple design juries at NYIT, City College of New York, and Pratt Institute.  Leonard received a Master of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and completed his undergraduate degree from Columbia University.  His work and contributions have been recognized by the New York Chapter AIA Design Award, AIA New York State Design Award of Excellence, AIA/COTE Top Ten Green Project, AIA Westchester/ Mid-Hudson First Honor Award and Sustainable Design Award, Interior Design Award by the International Interior Design Association, and P/A Award Citation, amongst many others.  Leonard is a registered architect in the State of New York and LEED AP professional.
