Multi-Generational Community Center

The 14th Street Y is a Jewish, mult-generational community center serving the Lower East Side community of Manhattan. As a part of Educational Alliance’s network of community centers in Lower Manhattan, it focuses on programming across four programmatic pillars - arts and culture, education, health and wellness, and civic engagement. Our vision for the new 14th Street Y is to serve simultaneously as a “town square” for the East Village community where local families can find community as well as a cutting-edge cultural destination for all New Yorkers. The building and its central atrium will provide an inipiring and welcoming place to gather, reflective of its community. All spaces at the 14th Street Y will reflect its core Jewish values, a joyful, open-tent community where everyone is welcome.
